TAYLOR THE TENOR

Taylor Page is a professionally-ranked tenor drummer and instructor based in Hamilton, ON Canada. She is currently the midsection lead for the Grade 1 78th Fraser Highlanders.

Taylor started drumming in 2006 with the Grade 5 Dundas Pipes and Drums. Her first competitive season was in 2007. She moved to the Grade 3 Paris/Port Dover Pipe Band for the 2012 season, and after one season joined the 78th Frasers in 2013. Beyond the competition circle, Taylor also played as a civilian with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's) from 2010 to 2014.

Taylor's solo drumming career began in 2010. Progressing rapidly through the ranks, she became Professional in 2013, winning her first North American and Champion Supreme titles that year. She is the current North American Champion for 2016.

TAYLOR THE TEACHER

Taylor's origins in teaching do not involve drumming, but rather Highland Dance. Her 11 years of competitive dance saw her coach dancers of all ages and abilities, developing her leadership and teaching skills from an early age.

Understanding how people learn differently and how to adapt drumming instruction to it is a primary focus for Taylor in any teaching environment. Her study and understanding of the learning process has led to success for many of her students in both the solo and band contest circuit. Several of her students have won multiple society titles and North American Championships.

She currently teaches students from across Canada and the United States. They range in ability from beginner to advanced, and range in age from 10 to 75!
